Dues... due to Dew

22July 2007,

Dew.

This word means and reminds us of fresh water drops that condense on leaves, grass blades, and other surfaces....early in the morning, thanks to Sunrise.

Dew to me, means more than that.

Dew, is a person, I have had the immense pleasure to Mentor since the beginning of this millennium.

The person I address as Dew...is named just that.

And the person is indeed 'Dew'.

Fresh, refreshing,as ever, as and when Dew decides to drop.

Disappears with warmth permeating as the day progresses.

Lasts only for a few hours..to be experienced, relished, mentored,...not more...never.

Night befalls.

Next day...though the Sun rises...Dew may be there, may not be.

Depending on prevailing conditions.

I don't have to search for Dew.

I know Dew shall drop...need be.

As Dew does Drop... when due.

Dew came into my life in the early 2002.
Fresh from college.

While hiring a resource,I hate to recommend and also detest hiring recommended people.

This person was recommended by the owner of the business to me.

My first thought was to ignore.

So what? if the owner recommends.

I was in the drivers seat.

My Call.

But I could not ignore due to peer pressure...and business needs, then.

I picked up the phone half hearted and called up Dew out of a sense of duty, nothing more.

I was pleasantly surprised by the telephone etiquette's and the wonderful attitude displayed during the telephonic interview itself.

I had to change my mind.

I invited due to a face to face interview, the very next day.

Dew walked in on the dot.

Dew breezed through the interview and won my professional confidence.

I had to change my stance.

I appointed Due as a trainee technical recruiter, without batting an eyelid.

The sum that I fixed up for due in those days was quite good for a novice.

Dew joined my team as a trainee...the very next day.

With time and training Dew proved to be an excellent resource.

Immature at times, but willing to learn and mature, with time.

One incidence I always muse over is the unconscious way in which Dew was sitting on the work station, and loudly calculating expenditure allotment and budgeting out of the first salary a day before it was to be released, to Dew.

Oblivious of me, Dew was deeply engrossed in allotting funds to near and dear ones majorly, and also setting aside a small portion for individual needs.
Innocently but so lovingly.

I had to intervene and wake Dew up from the trance that Dew had got into, out of the sheer pleasure of earning a sizable amount...just after college. This innocence gave me a fresh insight into Dew's "inner beauty".
So uncommon, so rare, in today's 'dog eat dog' world.

Ever since...although both of us changed jobs...Dew has proved that Dew is a class apart.

In these past 5 to 6 years I have had the privilege of mentoring Dew at all levels.

Dew now, comes as a packaged professional with a strong sense of integrity, commitment and the best attitude that money cannot buy.

While mentoring we always love to mentor people who receive knowledge and incorporate the same in their daily lives.

It gives us a great pleasure to see the flower bloom right in front of your own eyes.

Dew has been like that. Dew has morphed from a novice like "bud" to a "blooming flower" so gracefully.

From a meager beginning as a trainee...today Dew is a matured Manager who also values values.

Dew has learnt not only to communicate absolutely professionally but also to win the hearts of all the managers that Dew has worked with, so far.

Dew has grown up into a very reliable, dedicated Manager, within no time.

Dew has this uncanny knack of winning hearts while working with people.
Dew delivers on the dot.

Dews' professional ways are unique.

Always self less.

Always on the dot.

Always ready to move on...with a "what next" attitude.

Now that Dew is there where Dew wanted to be 5 years ago...Dew has started showing the next signs of maturity.

Dew has indicated every recently, that materialistically there is not much happiness that one can look forward too.

Dew wants to get spiritual.

Dew blogs too...pretty deftly.

Amazing...at this tender age a person wants to get away from temporary happiness!

Dew has added a couple of degrees too, this way, Dew is certain to get to the "next level" within no time.

But is that due in the case of Dew?...now that materialistically Dew is above, on a different plane?

Time will tell.

Till then I know for certain that...Dew does drop.

Now that you have read this piece...you know too!
